Shortly thereafter Michael started his own guide service taking people fishing for Sea Trout, Snook, Barracuda and Sharks. In 1988 Michael saw the need for a similar business in the Muskoka's. Since that time he has been successfully operating one of Ontario's leading guide services, and chosen by celebrities such as José Cruz (Toronto Blue Jays), Mark O'Meara (golf legend), John LeClair (Philadelphia Flyers), Shayne Corson & Darcy Tucker (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Mike Weir (Top Canadian golfer), taking guests fishing from ice-out to freeze-up. Michael has made several television appearances giving tips on everything from boat handling to choosing the right colour of lure. Michael also presents many seminars throughout the season at different events. Major fishing shows are also attended where he gives tips to the public.
